The Honolulu Police Department’s “white cars” — its white-and-maroon patrol cars — move out. The department’s accident prevention detail covers beats throughout the city and county. Its primary mission is to enforce traffic laws to prevent mayhem on Oahu’s roadways.

Hana Bay is one of the many protected havens along the shoreline near Hotel Hana-Maui, whose Hamoa Beach nearby is one of the most beautiful in the islands. These tranquil, far-away shores are nearer since the opening of the new Hana airport. Deep-sea life is plentiful in these waters outside the bay, and a new deep-sea fishing cruiser is available to sports fishermen at the hotel.

This site once was the busy Aoki Supermarket, at the corner of Ohua Street and Kalakaua Avenue in Waikiki. With demolition almost completed, construction crews will soon begin the foundation of a 26-story hotel where the supermarket and other small businesses once stood.
