Former Gov. Linda Lingle takes public stance in recreational pot debate

Former Gov. Linda Lingle testified for the first time before the state Legislature on Tuesday since leaving political office in 2010 and urged a House committee to kill the latest effort to legalize adult recreational marijuana use in Hawaii. After more than three hours of testimony, the House Committee on Consumer Protection and Commerce, instead, voted to keep Senate Bill 2335 alive, with minor tweaks.
