>> The preliminary test results of ash from the Upcountry Maui fires found 688 milligrams of lead, well above the acceptable amount of 200 milligrams per kilogram of ash, and 85 milligrams of cobalt, which is higher than the acceptable amount of 4.7 milligrams per kilogram of ash. A chart on Page B2 transposed the results for the toxic substances.
