New District 2 Councilman Matt Weyer and District 8 Councilwoman Val Aquino Okimoto are sworn in. A melodic chant, the national anthem and Hawaii Pono’i ushered in the Honolulu City Council’s first meeting of the new year, as three, first-time council members and a returning councilman were formally sworn into office inside Honolulu Hale’s Council Chambers on Tuesday.
