Surfers ride a wave at the point at Waimea Bay on Oahu’s north shore. A high surf warning for nearly all Hawaiian islands is in effect through 6 a.m. Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service, with wave heights of 20-30 feet for north facing shores, and 15-20 feet for west facing shores.
