The Center for Korean Studies is celebrating its 50th anniversary at the University of Hawaii at Manoa on Thursday. An exhibit showcasing historical photographs of Koreans in Hawaii are on display in the foyer of the center, located at 1881 East-West Road, through Sept. 28.

The center’s pavilion eves and roof supports were done in the tanch'ong painting style. Six master painters were brought from Korea to Hawaii to apply the colorful finishing touch to the center.
