The Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency held a ceremony for National POW/MIA Recognition Day at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific on Friday. The ceremony commemorates and honors captives of war, missing and returned, and their comrades, friends, and families who have endured the heartbreak and void that accompanies those with unknown fates.

Wreaths are laid out at the cemetery before presentation. A tribute to individuals who have been identified by the DPAA and returned home was held with each person’s name read aloud.
