Alfred Keaka Hiona Medeiros holds the flag of Hawaii along Ala Moana Boulevard to protest the U.S. Supreme Court decision to overturn Roe v. Wade which will now allow states to ban abortion. "I’ve been born and raised in Hawaii nei by women. My great grandmother took care of me, my grandmother took care of me, my mother —I had two moms, stepmom and mom — my sisters. I have been nothing but around women most of my life. As a kanaka maoli, the wahine always stepped up. Our elder kupuna always stepped up. It’s time for me, as a man, to step up. Your rights are just as important as mine. If not more important, without women, there would be no men," said Medeiros.
