People gathered at ‘Iolani Palace as part of the worldwide celebration for Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee on Thursday. Hawaii was invited to join the global event to honor the Queen’s 70 years of service to the United Kingdom and its commonwealth countries because of its historical ties to Great Britain.
