UPDATE 4:45 p.m.
Honolulu police have identified a suspect wanted on suspicion of second-degree murder following this morning’s fatal shooting of a teen at Tantalus.
During a brief news conference this afternoon, Honolulu Police Department’s Homicide Lt. Deena Thoemmes said police are looking for 19-year-old Nainoa Damon, who should be considered armed and dangerous following the shooting that resulted in the death of an 18-year-old boy. His identity has not yet been released.
Police are also looking for a second suspect, a male who has not yet been positively identified.
Thoemmes said that after the shooting, both suspects fled the Tantalus area in a white 1998 Toyota Camry toward Nehoa Street. The vehicle reportedly has a “Bad Boy” sticker on the driver’s side windshield.
She said Damon and the other 18-year-old victim, who Damon initially pointed his gun at, know each other.
Damon is described as being 5 feet, 11 inches tall, and 150 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a white shirt.
The second suspect is described as being 5 feet, 6 inches tall. He was wearing a black ski mask and all-black clothing when he was last seen.
Thoemmes did not identify the second victim of the shooting, also an 18-year-old boy.
