The Hawaii Safe Travels online app can be frustrating and less than intuitive. But revelations about privacy issues of the CLEAR app, another option for Hawaii-bound travelers seeking quarantine waivers, are disturbing. The company describes personal and health data harvested on its website (www.clearme.com/privacy_policy).
The Safe Travels app stores information about your COVID-19 test and vaccine history but no other health history. CLEAR, though, seems to go beyond that. Given an app option, the choice seems, in a word, clear.
