Dole Plantation to reopen with new hours and safety protocols
The Dole Plantation plans to reopen to the public Thursday for the first time since its closure on March 20 due to coronavirus pandemic restrictions.
The new hours of operation will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday through Tuesday, with new safety protocols that include the wearing of face coverings at all times, and a mandatory temperature check before entering.
Dole Plantation will remain closed Wednesdays for “deep cleaning,” according to management. It will also be closed on Thanksgiving, Nov. 26, and Christmas.
Dole Plantation, just outside Wahiawa town, was originally a fruit stand in the 1950s in the middle of pineapple fields but is now a popular visitor attraction that includes the Pineapple Garden Maze, the Pineapple Express Train, and a garden tour. It also has a country store, where it sells fresh pineapples and soft-serve DoleWhip treats.
The site’s management said other safety measures will include:
>> Designated entrance and exit points to limit the number of guests on the premises.
