Actor Richard Boone’s 43-foot sport fishing boat, the Goodbye Charlie, broke loose from its mooring and
was smashed to pieces on the rocks off Hala Halewai Recreation Center near Kona Village. The boat,
valued at $90,000, was listed as a total loss. “It’s just further proof of the urgent need of a breakwater of
some kind here to protect the craft,” Boone said.
