One of the most striking buildings in the Waikiki district, the Lau Yee Chai restaurant, has the type of architecture that lends charm and interest to the community. The building was well kept throughout the war, has a minimum of signs and has become an outstanding landmark in the city. Chuck Plannette straightened out in time to make a perfect landing after his jump from the water ski ramp in Kaneohe Bay at the Marine Corps Air Station. Plannette is among many entries in the water ski show to be held at the 49th State Fair in Honolulu Harbor, adjacent to Sand Island, just Ewa of the passenger landing platform.
