To set the mood during her Tiny Desk Concert at NPR headquarters in Washington, D.C., Taimane performed accompanied by Polynesian dancer Li‘o of Brooklyn, New York, left, wearing a lei po‘o (head-dress) made from dried lauhala, and a hau skirt made from hau (wild hibiscus bark). Taimane’s lei po‘o was made in Hawaii by Pamakane Pico, and flown from Oahu for the performance.
