Camp Smith evacuates three buildings after suspicious package found
A suspicious package was found at Camp Smith today, according to a message on the Marine Corps Base Hawaii’s Facebook.
The package was found in the vicinity of Marine Forces Pacific Headquarters Building about 10:10 a.m.
Explosive Ordnance Disposal, federal firefighters, and the Provost Marshall Office responded. EOD entered the building about 12:50 p.m. and cleared the package. It was handed to federal firefighters for hazmat analysis.
EOD and firefighters deemed there was no threat and the all clear was given about 1:55 p.m.
Emergency officials evacuated Buildings 1, 4 and 80 during the incident.
