Man, 31, critically injured in motorcycle crash in Waipahu

A 31-year-old man sustained critical injuries in a motorcycle crash in Waipahu.

The crash occurred in the area of the Kunia Road on-ramp to the westbound lanes of the H-1 freeway at about 5 p.m. Sunday.

Police said the man was traveling on a 2018 Harley Davidson motorcycle on the on-ramp when he lost control. He was thrown from his motorcycle and landed in brush.

He was taken to The Queen’s Medical Center in critical condition.

The motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

Police said alcohol may have been a factor. It is unknown whether speed or drugs were involved.
