Honolulu firefighters extinguished a garage fire this afternoon in Makakilo.

The fire was reported about 4:20 p.m. at 92-543 Ualehi St., said Honolulu Fire Department Capt. Scot Seguirant.

He said 31 firefighters responded with nine units to a burning detached garage. The fire did not reach the main house.

Firefighters brought the blaze under control at 4:32 p.m. and extinguished it at 5 p.m. No injuries were reported.

Residents — a man and woman — were not home at the time of the blaze.

The fire is under investigation. The cause and damage estimates have not yet been determined.
