3 Wahine earn soccer regional awards

Three members of the Hawaii soccer team received regional recognition for the 2019 season from the United Soccer Coaches on Monday.

In the Division I All-West Region (which includes teams from the West Coast, Big West and Big Sky conferences), senior goalkeeper Alexis Mata was named to the first team, freshman midfielder Eliza Ammendolia was named to the second team and senior forward Kayla Watanabe was named to the third team.

Mata was earlier named Big West Goalkeeper of the Year and Michele Nagamine the Big West Coach of the Year as the Rainbow Wahine (6-8-4, 4-1-3 BWC) reached the Big West tournament for the first time.
