Crews battle brush fire off Kunia Road

A section of Kunia Road in Wahiawa was reopened about 6:40 p.m. Wednesday after being closed several hours as firefighters battled a brush fire near the Hawaii Country Club.

The road was closed from Anonui Street to Kunia Drive on Wednesday. Ming Fai Wong had been waiting for six hours along Anonui Street for Kunia Road to open.

Farmer Viane Scanlan waited in a van, along Anonui Street, for Kunia Road to open on Wednesday. The Honolulu Fire Department said a total of 21 units and 62 personnel were on the scene of the brush fire, along with Air 1.
