Leading up to the Los Angeles Rams’ preseason game Saturday against the Dallas Cowboys at Aloha Stadium, the Rams are hosting a series of community engagements.
Field days under the auspices of a National Football League program called Play 60 will feature Rams legends Eric Dickerson and University of Hawaii graduate Pisa Tinoisamoa, as well as the Rams cheerleaders and mascot Rampage. Each field day will consist of football activities tailored to elementary and middle school students.
Play 60, in concert with the American Heart Association, encourages young people to engage in 60 minutes of physical activity per day. The Rams’ game and associated events are in partnership with the Hawaii Tourism Authority.
Among the appearances:
>> 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. today, the Rams cheerleaders will host a meet-and-greet session at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam. The cheerleaders will hold a cheer clinic for 250 youngsters from 3 to 5:30 p.m.
>> 12:30 to 2:20 p.m. Wednesday, the cheerleaders and Rampage will hold a meet-and-greet at the Pacific Missile Range Facility at Barking Sands, Kauai.
>> 2 to 5 p.m. Wednesday, a Play 60 field day will be held in affiliation with the Boys & Girls Club of Hawaii at the NFL Youth Education Town (YET) Clubhouse, 89-159 Mano Ave., Nanakuli. Dickerson, Tinoisamoa and the cheerleaders will be in attendance. The cheerleaders will also hold a cheer clinic.
>> 5:30 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, the cheerleaders will host a workshop at 24 Hour Fitness Pearl City Super-Sport Gym, Pearl Highlands Center, 1000 Kamehameha Highway.
>> 2 to 3 p.m. Thursday, Tinoisamoa will participate in a meet-and-greet session at the Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center.
>> 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, the Rams & USA Football will host a coed First Down Football Clinic at Schofield Barracks for 150-200 youth (ages 6-14).
>> 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, the cheerleaders will host a yoga session at Victoria Ward Park in Ward Village.
>> 9 to 11 a.m. Friday, a Play 60 field day in association with American Savings Bank will be held at Aala Park. Tinoisamoa and Rampage will be in attendance from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. Cheerleaders also will be there from 9 to 10 a.m.
>> Noon to 2 p.m. Friday at the Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center, Building A, Level 1, the team will host a fan rally at the Rams Hale Pop-Up Shop with the cheerleaders, Rampage and live music. Dickerson will be in attendance from 1 to 2 p.m.
>> 3 to 5 p.m. Friday, a Play 60 field day will be held at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam.
>> 5 to 5:45 p.m. Friday, Tinoisamoa will participate in meet-and-greet session at the New Wave Friday Festival at Ward Village Mall.
