The Star-Advertiser has reported on the excellent organizing skills of the opponents of the Thirty Meter Telescope, and the nonviolent nature of the actions.
It is too bad, however. What is being done so well is also unconstitutional, since no religion or interpretation of religious doctrine can legally be imposed on taxpayer-funded and public governmental affairs.
Others keep trying to do this in denying the rights of women and other people in the name of some folks’ interpretation of Christianity. Two wrongs do not make a right.
Also, I do not understand why such fine and dedicated energy is not directed toward bettering the lives of living humans — the ones who would benefit from the money coming in as the TMT is built, the ones in such misery in our government internment camps, the ones in Puerto Rico so harshly affected by corrupt Democrats on the island and cruel and exploitive Republicans in Washington.
Let us move forward with the telescope, as ancient Hawaiian traditions of astronomy and industriousness would be honored by doing so.
