Waianae Intermediate School teacher Tammy Cabral on Thursday made preparations for the start of school inside her classroom. Cabral, who teaches eighth grade social studies, just earned her Advanced Professional Certificate in Special Education at Leeward Community College. She had been a long-term substitute teacher, then an emergency hire, but is now a fully licensed teacher.
