To suggest, as one person did, that criticizing President Donald Trump should wait until we clean up our own local racial issues is ridiculous (“Caucasians endured racial taunting in Hawaii,” Star-Advertiser, Letters, July 22).
Trump is a divisive force in this country, encouraging bigots and xenophobes with his comments. He deserves strong condemnation for his recent remarks against three Congresswomen.
In my view, he cannot be criticized enough as he stirs up hatred and seems to revel in it.
This is not the kind of leadership we want. No one should be muzzled when it comes to voicing their disapproval of Trump’s venomous discourse.
