The idea behind bulky item pickup is great, provided that all items at a specific address are taken away.

Someone in Honolulu Hale came up with the great idea that only items that were previously listed were eligible for pickup. Don’t they realize that like hangers left untended in a closet, items left on the street for pickup will multiply exponentially overnight?

If, then, only the listed items are scooped up, who will pay to have the additional items hauled away? It’s unfair to the tenant or homeowner who is working within the system to suddenly be saddled with a problem over which he or she had no control over in the first place.

There has to be a better way.
