The unusual page layout of the Star-Advertiser Insight section (June 9) caught my attention, especially since the cover article, “The highest sacrifice, the value of democratic allies,” was written by Trudy Rubin, a biased Never-Trumper.
Also, pictured was a row of dignitaries dressed in solemn dark outfits with Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi contrasted in a white outfit front and center for the D-Day Plus 75 Years Commemoration. True to my expectations, Rubin took the opportunity of this occasion to opine and denigrate President Donald Trump under the guise of journalism.
Nevertheless, for the same occasion, USA Today noted that “Trump honored the dead and paid tribute to survivors, a solemn duty of American presidents. The address near Omaha Beach won praise from supporters and critics alike … ”
Rubin epitomizes the sad trend of true journalism giving way to ideology and partisanship. The least Rubin could have done was to explain the meaning of the “D” in D-Day.
