Memorial Day weekend marks the start of six weekends of family fun at the 50th State Fair, from Friday to June 30 at the Aloha Stadium. In addition to fair favorites — E. K. Fernandez rides like Techno Power and Black Out, games, food and a petting zoo — there will also be lots of free entertainment, including Scott’s World of Magic and comedy hypnotist Catherine Hickland, pictured.
“The theme of the 50th State Fair is ‘Fun for Everyone,’ and that is exactly what we have kept in mind as we put together the entertainment and attractions we are bringing to this year’s fair,” said Donna Smith, vice president of E. K. Fernandez Shows Inc.
Other free highlights: military bands from the Army, Air Force and Marine Corps performing on Memorial Day, plus roving robot cars, a demolition derby, a monster truck show and a rodeo.
