Brad the dog finds permanent home after 7-year stopover at Oahu SPCA

Brad the dog was adopted by a Michgan couple after he had stayed at the Oahu SPCA for almost seven years.
After waiting nearly seven years, the Oahu Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals said Brad the dog has finally found his forever home.
The Australian cattle dog mix, described as high energy and highly intelligent, was adopted by a young couple visiting from Michigan who fell in love with him at first sight. Brad leaves for his new home on Thursday.
“He needs a lot of outdoor space and exercise to keep him healthy and happy,” said shelter manager Ashley Weber in a news release. “Although we will miss him dearly, Brad deserves to be with a loving family in a place where he can thrive.”
Staff and volunteers at Oahu SPCA made sure that Brad had plenty of daily outdoor time including hikes, long walks and runs while waiting for the right home. In addition to interviewing and screening the young couple, the Oahu SPCA raised the funds for a pet-safe flight to his new home on a ranch in Michigan.
Many of the animals up for adoption at the Oahu SPCA have been waiting for years.
