Columnist David Shapiro was being kind to U.S. Sen. Mazie Hirono, who once said “to the men of this country … shut up and step up,” and people like her who are afflicted with HTS, or Hate Trump Syndrome (“Hirono’s raucous attacks play into Trump game plan,” Star-Advertiser, Volcanic Ash, May 5).
Based on a letter reported by The Washington Post that Robert Mueller did not agree with William Barr’s “summary report,” Hirono accused Barr of lying and asked for his resignation. She would not listen to responses by Barr, who was under oath, when he stated that he and Mueller had a subsequent clarification conversation about that concern and Mueller stated that the “summary” was not inaccurate; that his concern was with the media misinterpreting the investigation, not Barr’s “summary.” Barr also asserted there will be an investigation about how this Russia-collusion investigation began.
Because of HTS, Trump strategically counteracts Democrats and its media allies by keeping them off balance with the use of controlled chaos.
