How is the government protecting and keeping citizens safe, when it supports a policy of allowing a tenant to be evicted from a $1,000-per-month studio apartment, so the landlord can convert the unit to an illegal vacation $1,000-a-day vacation rental?
Helping the well-off become richer while creating misery and homelessness for the less-fortunate sounds like a Trump government franchise has expanded to Oahu.
Further example is a condo development, where units sell for millions of dollars, being given an acre of Ala Moana Regional Park land to create a zipline, pool-enhanced playground that is visible from the development and would be a de-facto condo amenity for which taxpayers would be liable.
Beside other city misdeeds, the FBI should investigate to determine if those who benefit the most are connected by blood or money to those in the city who are supporting that playground and illegal rentals.
