Honolulu firefighters extinguish wildland fire at Keehi Lagoon Beach Park

The Honolulu Fire Department extinguished a Keehi wildland fire and prevented it from spreading Friday night.

Firefighters responded 8:42 p.m. to the blaze at 465 Lagoon Drive behind the tennis courts at the Keehi Lagoon Beach Park.

A total of five units staffed with 18 personnel attacked the fire with the first unit arriving at 8:57 p.m. Firefighters reported the fire was under control at 9:11 p.m. and fully extinguished it at 9:50 p.m. The fire burned an acre.

No injuries have been reported. No structures were threatened.
