I won’t pretend to be a racing enthusiast. However, those who are should have a place where they can race their cars.
Opponents have said that they were OK with a raceway if it didn’t take away any parks or recreational space for our children to go and play. Besides parks and playgrounds, we have soccer fields, outdoor basketball courts, swimming pools and golf courses, paid for by taxpayers.
The racing enthusiasts who want a race track are taxpaying citizens. They also need somewhere where they can go to have some recreation.
Let’s not forget what this would do for businesses that sell racing parts and components.
This is a long time coming and all the parties involved should get together and get this done forthwith and stop coming up with reasons to deny a racetrack for the Oahu racing community.
