Las Vegas Advisor: Average show ticket prices up slightly

Continuing a trend that has now prevailed for 23 out of the past 28 years, the average price of a Las Vegas production-show ticket costs more this year than last, but only slightly. After tallying ticket prices from 103 shows, this year’s average comes in at $95.11, a mere 25 cents more than last year’s. The most expensive is a staggering $2,351 for the top (VIP) ticket to Celine Dion at Caesars Palace. Dion’s show was also part of the Caesars Palace collective (with Rod Stewart and Reba, Brooks & Dunn) that came in with the highest average ticket price at a record $367.45. More than half the shows (53) have at least one ticket option above $100.

Bargain tickets: This year’s lowest ticket for the third year in a row comes from the revolving lineup at Royal Resort with Magic Unplugged with Dixie Dooley and Zamora Sideshow each only $13.75. Also low are Laughternoon at the D ($29.20), Mike Hammer Comedy Magic at Four Queens ($32.16), Spirit of the King at Four Queens ($32.16), “LA Comedy Club” at The STRAT ($36.95), Celestia at The STRAT ($38.15) and “Comedy Cellar” at Rio ($38.25).

Donny & Marie departing: Donny and Marie Osmond have announced that their long-running show will come to an end on Nov. 16. The duo commenced their residency in September 2008, booked for a six-week engagement, but the show proved so popular it was extended 11 years. There’s still plenty of opportunity to see them, with 113 dates left on the schedule, ranging from six in July to 20 each in May and September.

Question: Are there any 99-cent breakfasts left in Las Vegas?

Answer: You might find biscuits and gravy or eggs and toast for 99 cents, but not a full breakfast that comes with meat. The least expensive breakfast of eggs, bacon or sausage, potatoes, and toast is $1.99 at Club Fortune Casino, located in neighboring Henderson. It’s served weekdays from 6 to 11 a.m. and ham and eggs are $2.99 on weekends during the same hours.
