The Aina Haina Public Library will reopen Tuesday following extensive repairs and renovations in the wake of last year’s flooding. The project included cleaning and updating of furniture and equipment, replacement of flooring, bathroom renovations and repainting of the interior, according to a news release.
The reopening also marks the launch of the library’s ukulele lending collection. The Aina Haina branch is the third lending location to offer the service, with instruments provided by Music For Life Foundation and Jake Shimabukuro.
A blessing will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, with cake and goodie bags for keiki at 3 p.m. from Friends of the Aina Haina Public Library, and a program with music at 6 p.m.
