Honolulu police arrest 30-year-old man suspected of robbing massage parlor
Honolulu police arrested a 30-year-old man on a $75,000 grand jury bench warrant in connection with a 2017 massage parlor robbery in the Keeaumoku area.
Honolulu Police Department’s Crime Reduction Unit officers arrested Donald S. Mauga in Waipahu Wednesday afternoon on a first-degree robbery charge.
His arraignment is set for Monday at Circuit Court. Mauga’s bail is set at $75,000.
Police said two male suspects posing as customers entered Pine Tree on Keeaumoku Street shortly before 2:40 a.m. on Nov. 9, 2017.
One of the males later identified as Mauga allegedly brandished a handgun at an employee and demanded money.
Police said the employee handed over money to him and the two men fled. A surveillance camera captured the robbery.
In December 2017, an Oahu grand jury indicted Mauga with first-degree robbery and issued a $75,000 bench warrant for his arrest.
Officers of the Crime Reduction Unit spotted him on Pupuole Street Wednesday and arrested him.
Mauga has a criminal record of auto theft and driving without a license.
