The Democratic Party of Hawaii, in an effort to make participation more accessible to the Aloha state’s voters, is seeking public input on its ambitious 2020 delegate selection plan.

In 2020, Hawaii Democrats will vote for the presidential nominee who will take on President Donald Trump, with a proposed plan that includes:

>> Vote-by-mail ballots provided to all active members.

>> Same-day voter and party registration at polling locations on April 4.

>> A ranked-choice ballot in which voters can rank their top three preferences.

“Our team has developed an innovative and inclusive plan to engage our community,” said Chair Keali‘i Lopez in a news release. “Hawaii’s residents will have the opportunity to join the Democratic Party and select their preference for the next President of the United States from this stellar field of candidates. We are working to ensure that every voter is given the chance to cast a ballot and make a difference.”

While voting is limited to members of the Democratic Party, all members of the public may view a draft of the 2020 Hawaii Delegate Selection Plan and provide comment at the Hawaii Democrats website.
