Work is continuing on stabilizing the slope above the Pali Highway along the Old Pali Road.

A landslide in February that injured vehicle occupants caused the highway to be shut down. Crews have worked on dislodging loose material and fortifying the slopes near the Pali tunnels.

Work on the project is expected to continue through August.

An emergency proclamation was issued Feb. 22, designating the location of the Pali Highway landslides a disaster area and providing relief for related damage and losses.

Slope stabilization work will be temporarily stopped 7 p.m. Saturday through 7 a.m. Sunday to allow Honolulu-bound traffic to be contraflowed onto the Kailua-bound lanes.

The Honolulu-bound lanes of Likelike Highway between the Kahekili Interchange and Valley View Drive will be closed for maintenance in Wilson Tunnel.

Likelike Highway’s Kaneohe-bound lanes will remain open.
