I recently received a check for $2.50 and a pair of fleece gloves from the Kids Wish Network, with a request for a donation.

A check of Charity Navigator shows how little of the network’s income is spent on its programs and services: 19.7 percent. Fundraising expenses are 78.5 percent.

I am concerned that many people in Hawaii may have received this request and may not take the time to check on Kids Wish Network.

Charitynavigator.org is a source I regularly use when I receive requests for donations.
