Get your fill of fresh malasadas. Visit Kiddie Land for games and prizes. Check out E.K. Fernandez’ new rides, including Lolli Swing and Zero Gravity. There’s fun — and lots of food! — for everyone in the family at the annual Punahou Carnival, Friday and Saturday at Punahou School.
“The carnival’s theme this year is ‘The Greatest Show,’ and all of the booths and activities will be circus related,” said Luke Ellis, a junior at Punahou School and member of the carnival publicity committee.
The event also features live theater with the Senior Variety Show, live music at Hawaiian Plate, an art gallery and white elephant sale.
“For the first time ever, the White Elephant tent will have pop-up bag sales featuring the brand-new reusable Punahou Carnival totes,” Ellis said.
Proceeds from the carnival, a tradition that dates back to 1932, support the nearly 700 students at Punahou School who benefit from its need-based financial aid program.
The event is hosted by Punahou’s Class of 2020 and is staffed by Punahou volunteers, including students, faculty, parents and alumni.
