This is the perfect time for TV and radio networks, the local stations, all newspapers, blogs, social media and the Congress to stop making our politics about winning and losing.
That means someone loses — and this time it was government workers, who had no fault in any of what was happening. We know we have a president who likes to “win,” but we must not fall for that mindset.
The Congress is supposed to serve the people — not their parties, not the president, but the people and their best interest. The media have got to stop pitting them against each other and they have to stop talking that way, too.
Congress: Get on with legislating, compromising, getting good things done. Ignore the president. He does not get to make laws. Only you can.
Write to those you choose and let’s get a movement going here. Now is the time; no more fighting and government shutdowns.
