The Star-Advertiser has printed numerous calls for U.S. Rep. Tulsi Gabbard to give up either her seat in the U.S. House of Representatives or her run for the presidency, as she cannot give adequate time to her job representing her constituents while seeking higher office.
Much of the campaign work is actually done by staff rather than the candidate. It is true that it requires a great deal of effort to do both at once, but most presidential aspirants do so.
Nearly all of those who have already announced and who will announce also are members of the U.S. House or U.S. Senate.
Don’t forget that Barack Obama served as a U.S. senator from Illinois during the entire time he was campaigning for the presidency.
