Goodwill Hawaii again will host free tax clinics statewide for low-income families starting Jan. 29. The free help is available to individuals or households who earned $55,000 or less in 2018 and do not own a home or business.
This is the 15th consecutive year the nonprofit organization has offered the clinics in conjunction with the IRS and Aloha United Way.
“Goodwill Hawaii is pleased to be able to offer this much needed and very popular service to the community year after year,” Goodwill Hawaii Chief Operating Officer Katy Chen said in a news release. “Like our other programs and services, our goal is to help local residents and their families become self-sufficient by helping them earn back their entire refund.”
Eligible participants can schedule an appointment online at higoodwill.org or by calling 836-0313. Those who earn above the $55,000 threshold may be eligible to receive some assistance and should email VITA@higoodwill.org for more information.
Prior to appointments, participants should visit Goodwill Hawaii’s website to find out which documents to bring. Walk-ins will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Only one individual or household will be served per appointment.
