The Hawaiian Humane Society announced today the availability of a special-needs dog — a French bulldog named Collette — for adoption.

Collette, 3, was brought to a private clinic earlier this month by an owner who could no longer provide for her care, according to the Society. The clinic transferred the dog to the care of the Hawaiian Humane Society.

She suffers from paralysis in her hind end, in addition to multiple health issues, and requires a home that can care for her special needs. Despite her condition, the Society said she has “a lively spirit.”

The Society will hold a required briefing with its chief veterinarian Kasey Carter, at 8 a.m. Saturday with interested families about her ongoing medical needs. Following the briefing, one-on-one interviews with those interested in adopting Collette will be available between 8 to 10 a.m.
