Whether your child is an aspiring ballerina or budding b-boy, take advantage of free dance training — open to any student attending a public elementary, intermediate or high school — offered by Performing Arts Center of Kapolei every Thursday at Kapolei High School.
The center’s Xpress Free Public Dance Classes cover four basic genres — hip-hop/breaking, ballet, jazz and tap — throughout the school year. The classes are multi-level, allowing dancers to grow at their own pace.
“The dance classes … help develop kids’ confidence as well as (their) dance skills,” said Rachelle Amparo, artistic director at Performing Arts Center of Kapolei.
Students are given opportunities to experiment, choreograph and perform individually, as well as in groups.
