The foreclosed Hawaii Kai home, which was owned by Louis and Katherine Kealoha, was scheduled for an open house beginning on Sunday. The open house was cancelled and is now only available for showing through a private appointment with the realtor.

Those hoping for a peek inside the million-dollar home of retired Honolulu Police Chief Louis Kealoha and his former deputy prosecutor wife, Katherine Kealoha, this past weekend were disappointed.
The Realtor handling the sale of the Mariners Cove property canceled Sunday’s open house.
Signs posted on the home let people know that viewing will be done by appointment only.
The house is being sold under an agreement between Hawaii Central Federal Credit Union, which holds the mortgage, the Kealohas and the federal government.
When a federal grand jury indicted the Kealohas for bank fraud in October 2017, the prosecutor listed the home as a proceed of the crime and determined it should be forfeited to the government. The Kealohas stopped paying their mortgage, and the credit union moved to foreclose the property.
Under the agreement, the money from the sale will be held pending the outcome of the Kealohas’ bank fraud trial, which is scheduled for June. If they are found guilty, the Kealohas will forfeit the money. The government has said it wants to make sure the credit union gets all of the money it is owed.
