Breanna Mackenzie poured in a game-high 18 points, guiding the Sharks to a 65-49 win over Hawaii Hilo on Saturday at Afook-Chinen Civic Auditorium in Hilo.
Alysha Marcucci tacked on 11 points for Hawaii Pacific (9-5, 7-1 Pacific West). Allie Navarette led Hilo (4-8, 1-7) with 18 points.
>> James Griffin had 22 points as the Vulcans (7-5, 5-3) men’s team defeated the Sharks 74-67 on Saturday at Afook-Chinen Civic Auditorium in Hilo.
Darnell Bettis had 16 points and Lorenze Gordon-Haynes added 12 for the Sharks (4-9, 1-7).
Davis to speak at Quarterback Club
Joan Davis, the secretary of the Honolulu Quarterback Club, will be the speaker at the organization’s luncheon Monday at Maple Garden Restaurant.
Davis is also an avid athlete, having run nine Honolulu Marathons and competed in seven National Senior Games. She will be competing in the University of Hawaii Sunrise Track and Field Meet on Jan. 12.
Lunch is at 11:30 a.m. Monday, the program begins at noon, and the cost is $17 per person for members and guests, which includes tax and gratuities.
