Here’s a good reason for book lovers to bury their noses in some great reads this month: the Winter Reading Challenge, open to all ages with chances to win prizes the more you read.
The Hawaii State Public Library System is one of more than 100 libraries worldwide selected to participate in the challenge, which encourages reading. The statewide goal is to reach 1 million minutes of reading time.
The program is supported by the Beanstack Company and philanthropist Mark Cuban, who will donate $35,000 to top participating libraries if all communities in the program reach a collective goal of 5 million minutes and 75,000 books.
Take the challenge to help Hawaii become one of the top reading communities and be entered to win a gift card worth $100. There will be three winners — a child, a teen and an adult — statewide.
