An Aug. 24 brush fire destroyed 13 homes on Native Hawaiian kuleana lands at Kauaula Valley above Puamana in Lahaina, Maui. “There’s going to be a long healing process because people lost everything,” said Native Hawaiian leader Ke‘eaumoku Kapu, whose property was threatened by the fire. “Families are recovering, rebuilding.
