Box jellyfish advisory issued for Ala Moana, Waikiki, Hanauma Bay
City officials issued a box jellyfish advisory for the shores of Waikiki, Ala Moana and Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve.
On Sunday, approximately 100 box jellyfish were found at Ala Moana, a total of 56 stings were reported at Waikiki and a total of 17 stings at Hanauma Bay, according to Honolulu Ocean Safety. Signs have been posted at Hanauma Bay.
Beachgoers are advised to check with lifeguards at the beach for more information.
