A recent letter writer states that the same people who watch MMA (mixed martial arts) and UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship) don’t read the paper (“Keep violent sports photos out of the paper” Star-Advertiser, Dec. 21). That insinuates that MMA fans don’t read or want to stay abreast of local and world news? What an insulting and ridiculous statement.
With all of the violence in the world, the letter writer shows disdain for a sporting event. May I recommend an option: If you don’t like the violent MMA image, turn the page. There, simple option.
